What is a bootleg?
A bootleg is an illegal recording made (usually) without the consent or knowledge of the band, the band make no money from the sale of a bootleg

It is illegal to sell a bootleg recording in America although it is not illegal to buy one

Many bootlegs are imported into a country and sold as `IMPORTS`, in many cases the albums are not imported but the bootleggers simply put `made in Japan` (for example) on the bootleg to make it seem more exotic
